VICTORIA'S first community-owned wind farm, the Leonards Hill project, has been given the green light by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. The project was approved by the Hepburn Shire Council in February but local opponents took their objections to VCAT. The wind farm will consist of two 70-metre wind turbines 10km south of Daylesford, which will generate enough energy to supply 2000 homes.
