RENEWABLE energy company, Epuron, will investigate the feasibility of a wind farm at the Gullen Range, south of Crookwell. The company already has development approval for 15 turbine wind farms on the Cullerin Range near Goulburn, Conroy's Gap near Yass and Snowy Plains near Berridale.
Project director, Simon Davey, said investigations included background noise measurement, flora and fauna studies, and assessment of heritage and visual impact. The Southern Tablelands is a hot spot for wind farm proposals, with a section of landholders strongly opposed to their development mainly because of perceived visual and noise impacts.
